SAT Test prep can be fun! A DICTA puzzle, invented by George Jirgal, combines features of the pencil-and-paper game HANGMAN, the television game
Wheel of Fortune, and a crossword puzzle. As you answer the clues, you are also discovering
a secret word and its meaning. Answers to the questions, automatically rearranged for you, will
spell out the definition. The first letters of the answers will spell out the secret word. We hope
that playing DICTAs will be an entertaining way of expanding your vocabulary. The puzzles are
designed for High School students studying ESL and preparing for standardized tests.
If you type your name the same way each time, this page will take you through all
available puzzles. Try not to leave the puzzle page till you finish the puzzle. If you need to leave the puzzle window, save your work and read it in again
later.
